Drawing Your Personality

Am I the only one who finds online personality tests cool and fun? Sure, they are rubbish, but there's something about them that I find so entertaining. You can find a variety of them from normal questions, to choosing symbols, to actually drawing pictures. So, today I am going to share a few with you that I have found entertaining and maybe we can all share and be merry together! I'll give you the instructions so you can do it on your own. Don't be influenced by anything of mine. :]

1. Simple Drawing - Draw a sun, river, tree, and house. Plain and Simple.

Here is Mine. I got a bit carried away, but blah blah. What's this suppose to mean? Let's take a look at each item first. I'm not going to give the entire description. Just what suits my drawing. I don't want to spoil anything for you if you decide to do this.

1) The Tree - The tree is your mother. If you draw a large tree, it means you idolize your mother/look up on her. [Eh.....]

2) The House - The house is you. Closed windows and doors mean that you are not ready to accept everything ‘unknown’ or ‘new’. The design of the house, on the other hand, signifies your simplicity. The more complex the drawing is, the more complex you are. [I'm complex, but blah to everything else.]

3) The Sun - The sun is your father. The distance of the sun respective of the house implies  how close you are with him. A rising sun or a sun that is partly hidden behind a bunch of clouds means that you are not very open with each other. [I guess we're a bit close, but I'm not very open with him. This is true.]

4) The River - The river represents your friends. If it runs long and wide, you have a very rich library of friends. Again, the distance of the river with the house (you) determines your closeness with your friends. [Okay, this is all true for me.]

5) The Snake - The snake is your hardships and problems. If it is on the tree, the problems are in your mother.. [Interesting and a bit true, I suppose.]

2. The One Question Personality Test. <- Don't read on if you plan on doing this. Read after you do this.
"What would you like to do most tomorrow?" It gives you 16 different answers and I chose "Play Charades" My result:

Journalist (With pictures of Sandra Bullock and Robin Williams.)

Everything has significance – life is an exciting drama ... keen and penetrating observer ... very perceptive ... hyper-sensitive and hyper-alert ... enthusiastic, frisky, optimistic ... people-to-people work is essential ... skilled in handling people ... excellent in sales … ingenious and imaginative and can succeed at anything that interests you … enjoys process of creating something but not as interested in follow-through … needs variety and latitude in work … what might be is more fascinating than what is.
But – may be bored easily.

Frequent Career Choices:
Sales ... Marketing ... Politics ... Drama ... Acting ... Counseling ... Fund raising ... Ministry

Is this true for me? Extremely.. What did you get?

3. The PIG Personality test. Draw a pig. That's it. Don't be influenced by mine. Draw your own.
Yup. There's my little piggy. I'mma name it Billy Bob The Pigggglet. Now what does this little pig say about me? Let's find out.

1) If your pig is drawn toward the Middle of your paper, you are a realist who tends to face facts and deal with them realistically. You see the glass as dirty and put it in the dishwasher. [I see this yes, but I find myself as more of an optimist.]

2) If your pig is drawn facing Left, you believe in tradition, are friendly, outgoing and tend to remember dates and birthdays. Hint for husbands: remember your wife's birthday but never her age. [True.]

3) If your pig is drawn with Few Details, you are more impulsive, care little for detail and are willing to take risks. [Untrue]

4) If your pig is drawn with 4 Legs showing, you are secure, stick to your ideals, and can be stubborn. [Mmhmm.]

5) The Larger the pig's Ears you have drawn, the better Listener you are. [I guess I'm a decent listener...]

6) And last but not least, the Longer the pig's Tail you have drawn, the more satisfied you are with the quality of your love life. [:)]

Basically, you answer questions and they each have a point total. Total up your points and see who you get. Who did I get?

(35-42 points [I got 38]) You are Angelina Jolie

You are a lover. Romance, flowers, and wine are all you need to enjoy yourself. You are serious about all commitments and are a family person. You are fond of children. You never forget a birthday. Do not let your passion for romance get confused with the real thing.
[TRUTH]

You don't have to draw this one, but I am because writing it would be boring and well, I wanna draw.

Remember me when I'm famous. xD Here's the low-down.
The cube represents me and how I see myself in the world. Since it's not transparent, people can't see right through me. It's red and I assume that means I'm passionate since it says that the materials = feelings and I am tough. I don't see myself as tough, but I wish I was, lol. Since this cube is pretty... huge, that means my ego is also pretty darn huge. Yeah. I see that.
The latter represents my friends. Since the ladder is leaning onto the cube, that means my friends lean on me for support. That's true. The distance represents how close we are, so yeah. We are pretty close, too.
The horse represents my boyfriend. We are very close and because the horse has a saddle on it, that means I feel safe with him. True true true.
The storm represents some obstacle in my life. Because it doesn't seem to be moving, it means this obstacle has been around for quite some time and a resolution can't be seen in the near future. Because it's a big storm, the obstacle is also big and important and because it is a violent storm, that means the obstacle is causing me some serious stress. Also true.
The flower(s) represent children and the desire to have them. Because they are close to the cube, I want to have a close relationship with all of my children. I want to have around four kids. I wish.

So, this has been fun and it's time for me to go to bed now. Take a gander at these little quizzes. I enjoyed them a lot with Number 5 being my absolute favorite. I hope you have as much fun as I did and hey, you even learned some things about me if you didn't really know anything.

Straight Out of a Horror Movie

Yes, I used a gif because this was the most suitable image I could find that relates to what I am about to talk about. Which reminds me to let you guys know that I am going to start posting some image at the top of every post. You know, make this more me and more interesting. Whoop-dee-doo. Alright, now to get the the topic at hand.

You are all familiar with horror movies. Particularly ones where blood drips from the walls and it all goes Amityville Horror. I had a very similar experience today that made me think of that and now I'm seriously considering putting it in one of my screenplays I am going to write this year. What is this experience about exactly? Ladybug Showers.

"Nothing to see here. Move along, now."

Sure, go ahead and laugh. It sounds ridiculous. Ladybugs. The cute, red, spotted bugs are harmless (though my great aunt swears they bite) but they also stink to the high heavens. In the area where I live, ladybugs are very prominent when the weather begins to cool down and that is not a good thing. They will swarm around your doors and windows just looking for a way to get inside, and in most cases, actually do. Plenty of our neighbors have the same problem, but the difference is is that their house isn't like mine.

To give you a little bit of background, I live in a very old farmhouse. Built in 1904, that makes it 109 years old and though it is pretty, you can definitely see its age. There are weak places in the floors, a few hollow spots in the walls, and no electricity upstairs save for three light-bulbs. Another thing to note is the fact that this house doesn't have any insulation, whatsoever. Not even horse hair. It's just boards of wood and that's it. Makes it super cold in the winter and stifling in the summer. But, it's a home and it's been in the family for a while.

So, where were we? Oh yes, the ladydemonsbugs. This winter has been difficult with them. It seems like every year we get more and more and more. They are everywhere and it's disgusting. They will be on our kitchen ceiling and randomly fall down. They'll crawl on the computer screen at night and it's no telling where they are in our bedrooms. My mom has been fed up with it and the past few days, she has been turning over the house looking for these bugs. She found little colonies of them under our sink and then in the cabinets  Every time she found them, she would kill them and I would kill them. She caulked the windows and not only did that help the temperature in the house stay a little warmer, but it seemed to help the ladybug infestation, too.

Today, we were messing around the house. I was working on something for a website I go to and my mom was vacuuming the hallway. Something suddenly just... I dunno.. made her snap, I guess and she decided that taking off some of the thin wood paneling on our walls would be a good idea. She was planning on painting anyway, so no harm done, right? Wrong. She found the ladybugs. Huge masses of these smelly insects in the walls, hibernating and having a jolly good time. She then starts taking away the trim at our windows. Ladybugs just rained down from the ceiling and onto the floor. Hundreds of them. Every pop from the screwdriver was like the button you find on soda dispensers but instead of coke it was bodies.

"LET US LOVE YOU!"

This was so strange to see and the smell was horrible. And the funny thing? The "Old House Smell" that I mentioned above... yeah, now you and I both know where it came from. The ladybugs are in our walls. Not just ladybugs from this year, but ladybugs from years past. I'm not looking forward to taking the rest of the wooden paneling off......

To love another person is to see the face of God

So, I want to go ahead and apologize to all of my friends and family for writing a blog post about this movie. You are, no doubt, tired of hearing me talk about it, and I can assure you that this won't be the last time I'll speak of the film, or book, or soundtrack, or anything. But I am sorry that you have to hear about this again. Feel free to just leave now and forever hold your peace. With that out of the way, let me tell you about this beautiful film. (It really was beautiful, honestly.)

My desire to see Les Miserables started in the summer when my grandmother took me to see some movie about the meaning of Christmas. I really hated that movie, but at least one good thing came out of it. As we were watching the trailers, the behind-the-scenes trailer came out about Les Mis and I was immediately blown away. I had never heard of it before that day, and I feel like I have missed out on a little, honestly. What really intrigued me was the fact that the singing was actually live and not recorded in a studio months before shooting. As a woman who loves to sing (privately) and act, this caught my attention and I just had to see it.

Christmas rolls around and it's time for the movie to come to the theaters. At first, no one wanted to come with me. My sister, who was home from school, went to see it with her friends but I didn't have it that easy. I could have went by myself, sure, but driving in the city alone isn't really my idea of fun. I asked everyone I knew and they either didn't have time or hated musicals. I had made plans with a friend once, and she even turned them down due to work or something of the sort that really just left me by myself again.

I was to the point of just going on my own when I tried one last time with a friend and she agreed, not even knowing what the movie was about. I was thankful and bought our tickets, planning to see the movie in a gorgeous theater that I had never been to before and spending a few hours shopping in the outdoor mall.

The next day, I drove us to the mall and after gorging ourselves with Japanese, hunting to the restroom, and then shopping for some nice intimate wear, we went into the theater and was blown away by how large it was. I felt like I was walking into a theater of a different era. Those of you who have been into this theater before will probably roll your eyes, but you have to remember that I am only familiar with the local theater so you can understand how I was taken by surprise. We get into our seats and after I took another bathroom break, I got back into the room right as the movie was about to start.

One thing that surprised me and I enjoyed was that there was barely any spoken dialogue. Not expecting this, I started watching the movie listening to Jean Valjean singing about prison life and what he done, thinking to myself, "Oh, I'll just wait for when they start to talk because this is pretty hard to follow." They. Never. Started. Talking. I adjusted quickly and think myself a bit foolish to expect this to be like every other musical I had seen.

I did know one thing while going into this. I was gonna cry. Everyone I had spoke to talk me to bring a box of Kleenex and I didn't believe them. As the movie started, I was like, "Psh, I'm stronger than that. I won't cry." And then Fantine started singing "I Dreamed a Dream" and I started crying. When it ended, my sleeves were soaked and I tried to not to show it to my friend. I was a sobbing mess. It was like my brain suddenly turned into water and decided to escape. The ending was very happy, well... sad, but happy. Every time I remember this, I think of Ron Weasley in Prisoner of Azkaban: "You're going to be sad, but you're going to be... happy about it.".

I also heard that Russell Crowe was the worst thing about the movie. I strongly disagree! He brought a lot to Javert, who everyone perceives as a strictly Black-and-White character. Plus I really liked his voice. Sure, he couldn't hit some notes, but not everyone can be a brilliant singer (none of them were) and that really just made it the more real.

Since then, I have started reading the book by Victor Hugo. My, that man loves his descriptions. It's a really good book so far, and the movie has remained true, as of now. I have also become obsessed and have been watching interviews with the cast and learning everything I can about Les Mis. When I learned that Huge based Javert and Valjean on the same man, my jaw dropped. I can see that and it just brings a whole new perspective on things. It's just.. .WOW.

Les Mis was a real eye-opener for me. I saw myself in Valjean, Javert, Eponine, Corsette, Fantine, and Marius and I can not wait to see it again. I strongly suggest it to everyone I know, even though you may hate musicals. At least read the book. Learn about yourself along the way and become a better person because of it.

No More Boring.

After spending some time with my wonderful boyfriend yesterday, he pulled up my blog and told me how boring it was because I never post. I am gonna change that and start posting whether I feel like it or not because I would hate for this to be boring. And well.. dern.

I have been aching to write a story for a few days now. As I was driving home from Boyfriend's house last night, I kept thinking of different things. Albeit, dark things. Why do I like writing about dark things? I am in a very loving and wonderful relationship. I should write Harlequin romance novels and maybe even children stories. But no. I write about angry cops being murdered and then their heart-wrenching back-story that make you realize, "HOLY CRAP, HE WAS THE KILLER ALL ALONG". Oops, spoiler.

It's these stories that make me a bit uneasy when it comes to sharing them. For instance, my parents will never read the story of James, nor will Boyfriend. Alright, maybe Boyfriend will. But that's up to him. I guess I'm so uneasy about it because when I get into my writing, I forget that I am a well-mannered (sometimes) lady who does the proper things in life and I suddenly turn into James, the alcoholic jerk who likes to curse more than your grandmother when she's trying to defend the recipe of her coconut cake. Wow, I'm really getting into this post, aren't I? If anyone is interested in James, let me know either through comments here or some other way. I know I have readers from RL and RPG, so feel free to contact me about it. I guess I should start posting some of my writing, anyway.

Alright, well, I am going to go ahead and wrap this up. Have a great week!

Well

I have been meaning to write for a while, but every time I thought of something, I wouldn't be near anything to write it down and I would just forget it. So, I am just going to start rambling here and just put out things that have been on my mind lately. This will be in sections and will be a bit personal, which I said it the beginning I wouldn't touch on, but I really just feel like getting it out there.

1. New Years Resolutions
I don't like calling them that in the slightest. I like to call them "Goals" or something to that effect. Much simpler and I like the word better. What would I like to do this year? Well, I feel like this is a big year for me on the romantic side, education side, and personal side.

I am hoping to get out on my own by Christmas. This means getting the financial funds and the right mindset to tell my parents that I am leaving. They can make it hard or easy, but I'll be leaving once and for all. Crazy pipe dreams? Maybe. Will I make it work? I sure hope so.

Another goal involves my boyfriend. We may or may not get engaged this year. That is entirely up to him, really. He already knows I'll say, "Yes." Whether we do or not, I still want us to be living together, also by Christmas. If not by then, then by the Summer of '14. This is something that the both of us want to do, and with where we are now, it would be the best for us, also. I wish it could happen sooner, but I don't see that happening.

This also, in turn, connects to my education. I will be graduating with my Associates by the Fall. I have always been pushed to get a Bachelors, Masters, even Doctorate  The problem? I don't want to. I am not a college person. I enjoy my education and I know that things supposedly get easier with a higher diploma, but I not suited for the college scene. Perhaps after marriage and getting settle, I can take some courses and eventually get my Bachelors. It can be done. But I don't exactly want it now. I am more of  a family-oriented person. I want nothing more than to be a loving wife and a caring mother. It's what I've dreamed about for a long time and after meeting my boyfriend, it's been my main drive. Oh my, I can't believe a woman is talking about being a homemaker. How old-school and prudish. Viva La Feminazi.

On the topic of education, which the last few semesters creeping up on me, I am making it a huge goal to procrastinate less. I know, I'm doing so well with this post coming up so late, but bear with me. I work better under pressure, like 24-hour pressure and sometimes 12-hour pressure, but that can only get you so far. Ya know?

My final resolution is to (how original is this?) lose weight. I've already done well with losing 10 pounds in the past few months by simply cutting out cokes and high-fructose corn syrup. My goal is around 150lbs, which is healthy for my height. I'm well on my way and with some exercise and more healthy eating habits thrown in there, I know I can do it.

So, that is all for this little segment. The next post will be about Grief and Frustration and you can expect that in a few days time. I have to leave with a question, though. What are your goals for this year or in the general future?

Characters

As a writer, I have created several characters that I have grown to love immensely. Sure, there have been characters that I liked for a moment, used them for their purpose, and then disposed of them painlessly, but there have been some characters that I can't imagine letting go of so easily. Why is that? Is it the effort I put into them? Not exactly. The more human I make a character, then more I enjoy them. Maybe that's true for everybody or just me. I'm not exactly sure. I am thinking of three characters right now who have tugged at my heartstrings and I remember them quite fondly. One I used years ago and two that are relatively new that I have created entire biographies for.

On a roleplaying site I visit daily, I asked the question: "Recycle or Generate? Do you re-use your characters?" I answered, prematurely, that I don't recycle characters. I generate new ones for every roleplay. While that is partially true, I sold myself short. I have recycled only three of my characters, the characters I mentioned above. One is now retired, having died a horrific death at the hands of her lover. The other two are still alive and well, mostly well.

Where am I going with this? I leave to eat some supper and I come back having completely lost my train of thought. Buggers.

I guess I'll just leave this with a simple question to my fellow writers: When it comes to creating your characters, what is the most important thing to remember?

Welcome...

to my little home on the internet. You have likely stumbled here on accident or I have invited you here personally. In any case, sit down, help yourself to a cup of coffee, and enjoy yourself.

I was cautious about making this blog, not that I am new to the scene, but because I don't know if I will have time to commit to it. What you'll find here will be short stories that I have written, ramblings from my mind, or nothing at all. I am not here to share personal information, but my life may find its way into this blog. Take that as a warning.

The morning hours are slowly making their way to the present, so I will cut this short. I bid thee all farewell. May we see each other again soon.
